「おもちゃ」の単語を使うのがある—
（女の子が）おもちゃを壊す。でも、よく僕はその単語（言葉？）が思い出せない。その時、思い出させるために、先生は「おもちゃのチャチャチャ！」って歌う。子供の歌の歌詞だって。僕は知らない歌なので、調べ訳してみよう。。。。 何分が分かるだろうかなぁ。子供のなので、よく分かるといいよね。
（それから）おもちゃが壊れる。

ちょっと安すぎるだろうが、役に立つ単語があり、いい練習だね。僕は今「源氏物語」のテキストも勉強しテレので、こんな子供の歌を訳すのが優しい。

Whatever ブースカ may be, この可愛い犬はブースカが欲しいと思う:
「おもちゃのチャチャチャ」の歌詞は、まるで今上映中の「トイ・ストーリー３」そのものですね。
ReplyDeleteさて、「ブースカ」ですが、この歌詞の中では、「擬音語」と捉えるべきです。一般的に、豚の鳴き声の擬音語は「ブーブー」なのですが、それだと今ひとつメロディに乗ってない感じがするし、また「ブースカ」といったほうが面白く聞こえます。ただ、この歌詞の中だけの話で、普段私たちは「子ぶたがブースカ鳴いているよ」とはいいません。（でも、十分通用するし、また面白く聞こえる部分はあります。）
また、「鉛の兵隊トテチテタ」は、何のことかさっぱりわかりません。でも、多くの日本人は、この言葉の響きから、各自想像力を働かせます。たとえば自分なら、おもちゃの兵隊がカクカクした動きで行進する動きを想像したりします。
I have learned a good expression from your this blog. It is "sleep soundly". At first, I thought that it did not equal to "suya-suya", but I found out I was wrong after seeing the expression in my dictionary. Thank you.
bikenglishさん, ありがとうございます！ 外人は擬音語がちょっと分かりにくいですね。
ReplyDeleteところで、I probably should have translated すやすや as "fast asleep". "Fast" has a very old sense of "completely (closed)", like a 窓 or 戸. "Sleeping soundly" / "sound asleep" has an oppositional 感じ—sleeping soundly as opposed to sleeping fitfully—but "fast asleep" has the feel of having been in bed long enough to be deep into sleep and essentially unwakeable.... I think that's more what's wanted here. そのほうがいいでしょうね。
